Monologues From Plays

I need to prepare a monologue for drama auditions for a high school play?

I am auditioning for a school play and I need to prepare a monologue. I've looked through many books, four of which are the twilight books, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn because those are the books I prefer to have a monologue from. The problem is that the monologue has to be a minute long, at the least. It has to be sad and emotional because that is the type of character she is looking for in the play. Thank you!

  1. I've directed a few plays as assistant before. Trust me, seeing any student auditioning from modern books are not exciting. Like any books written lately. If you do a book, we prefer adult books or any books from the past such as Wuthering Heights. Go to a site and look for one. Trust me, stay away form your idea.
  2. Try this site: http://www.whysanity.net/monos/monos1a.html It has movie monologues in it. But if I were you, I would pick something from a play. It's a little more professional.
  3. You could try this out, has a similar feel to Twilight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtmO0qsJ4ms&feature=channel_page All the best :)
