Were all of Shakespeare's monologues written in iambic pentameter, or in free verse? I read somewhere that a few of his famous ones, "To Be Or Not To Be" were written in iambic pentameter, but some of his other monologues or soliloquies were written in free verse, and was there a difference between the rhythm he used for the soliloquy, as opposed to the monologue? Tomorow for my acting class i perform one of helenas most famous monologues and theres certain lines i have questions on The Monologue: How happy some or other can be through athens im thought as fair as she but what of that? demetrious thinks not so he will not know all but he do know and as he errs doting on hermias eyes so i admiring of his qualites-- this is the first one i have a question on and shakespheres romeo and juliet in the balcony scene juliet says Monague? whats montague? its nor hand nor foot nor arm nor face, nor any other part belonging to a man everyone knows thats a joke on romeo's penis now any admiring of his qualities is that another joke like that? okay back to the monologue Things base and vile holding no quanity love can transpose to form new dignity love looks not with the eyes but with the mind thefore wing'd cupid painted blind nor hath loves mind judgemnet taste wings and no eyes figure unheedy haste and therefore love said to be a child because in choice he is so oft beguiled --- what does beguiled mean? as waggish boys in game themselves forswear so the boy love is prejured everywhere --- what does that line mean? for ere demtrious looked on hermias eyne he hailed down oaths that he was only mine and when that hail some heat hermia felt so he dissolved and showers of oaths did melt i will go tell him of fair hermias flight then to the wood will he tomrow night persue her, and for this interllegence if i have thanks it is a dear expense but herein mean i to enrich my pain to have his sight thither and back again also, is there a video of someone performing this so i have an idea on how to?

Monologue in V for Vendetta - Allan Moore or Wachowski brothers? Help me out - I have read in a million places the famous monologue by V when he meets evey hammond for the first time, but one question keeps nagging me and I can't seem to find the answer myself - was that monologue in the original comic book, or was it added into the movie by the wachowski brothers? Do you think I could make it on Broadway as a famous actor? Im 15 years old and have been in 4 productions going to 5. In 7th grade i was Benny Southstreet in Guys and Dolls. In 8th grade i was Seymour Krelbourn in Little Shop of Horrors. In 9th grade i was Jesus in Godspell. this year i was Jocko Guthrie in Curtain Going up. Im about to audition for the part of Jimmy Smith in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Im very Talented in both acting and singing. Im a current member of the International Thespian Society and this year i went to competition and performed a dramatic monologue andgot a superior rating. I am very willing to do anything. Im hispanic and dark skinned and fear that this will prevent me from being a famous actor on broadway. another of my down falls is that my family isn't that wealthy to get me an agent or to enroll me into acting school or singing lessons or even dance lessons because thats one area i need to work on. i am very passionate about acting but fear i won't make it. please help!
